Copper's atomic number is 29. Pure Copper is very soft.The colour pure copper is a pinky or peachy colour but the average copper is brownish, oringish or redish colour. It is mostly used as a building material. The copper material has been used for more than a thousand years now. Copper salts can be poisonous. Copper is in the same family on the period table as Gold and Silver. About 98% of copper is used as the metal , taking advantage of distinctive physical properties. Copper is one of the few metals to occur naturally as an un-compounded mineral.Copper was known to some of the oldest civilizations on record, and has a history of use that is at least 10,000 years old.
